Michael Koch --
Michael Koch is the director for The Music Box, located at Box Factory for the Arts in Saint Joseph, Michigan. Koch's musical talent at one point landed him a record deal shortly after college. After releasing a record with the company and a national tour, Koch decided to leave the professional music industry to stay true to his art. He is now settled in Saint Joseph and spends his days teaching kids music in an unorthodox, off-beat fashion. His talents expand beyond music, as he starred in his first acting role as Rich Mullins in Ragamuffin in 2013.
Ambassador Andrew Bennett --
Andrew Bennett is Canada's first Ambassador of Religious Freedom, an appointment that is new to the Canadian government. Bennett, a faithful Eastern Catholic, has spend most of his life studying politics and religion. He has a PhD in Political Science from University of Edinburgh and teaches the history of religion at Augustine College in Ottawa, Ontario. Bennett's position in the government has him traveling worldwide to fight for religious freedom on behalf of Canada. Bennett has been involved in raising awareness for atrocities such as ISIS and the unrest in eastern Ukraine.
David N Brown --
Dr. David Brown is the founder of Vision Outreach International, a small non-profit organization dedicated to serving the blind poor worldwide. The idea for VOI began in 2000, when Brown was in rural Kenya serving as an ophthalmologist at Tenwek Hospital. Brown realized that a large majority of blindness in third world countries is caused by extreme cataracts, which are completely treatable and do not cause blindness in the US. Brown and his colleagues began to use an operating procedure that replaced a cataract lens with an artificial lens for less than $20. Brown has traveled around the world performing surgeries and teaching local hospitals how to combat cataracts.
Good. I love the VOI concept. The subject is local but the reach is global. Michael Koch is also intriguing. It's interesting that he chose to leave professional music when there are so many artists dying to break in. The doc on Andrew Bennett is a good concept but unless you know him personally, it is not something you could produce.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I do know Ambassador Bennett. I went to Augustine College for a year
